Belarusian delegation attending economic forum in Poland

A Belarusian delegation is attending the 20th Economic Forum in Krynica Zdroj, Poland, which runs from September 8 to September 11, Andrey Savinykh, spokesman for the Belarusian foreign ministry, told reporters in Minsk on Thursday, as quoted by BelaPAN.

“The Republic of Belarus’ delegation is a traditional and active participant of this event,” the spokesman said. “The forum provides a venue for discussions on the prospects for cooperation between Eastern and Central European countries.”

The Belarusian delegation to this year’s forum includes representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Poland, national power utility Belenerha, Hrodna-based power utility Hrodnaenerha, the Mahilyowkhimvalakno artificial fiber plant and a number of other companies.

“A large group of Belarusian businesspeople led by Uladzimir Karahin, chairman of the Minsk City Union of Entrepreneurs, is also staying in Krynica,” Mr. Savinykh said. “At the forum, they are to meet with Polish colleagues and businesspeople based in other countries.
