Representatives of 24 Belarusian NGOs invited to attend second session of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum to be held in Berlin in November
Representatives of 24 non-governmental organizations in Belarus have been invited to attend the second session of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, which will be held in Berlin on November 18 and 19.
On the recommendation of the Steering Committee, the European Commission has invited representatives of 140 organizations in the European Partnership participating countries and 60 organizations in the European Union to attend the session, the Forum's leader, Syarhey Matskevich, who chairs the Minsk-based Assembly of Pro-Democratic Non-Governmental Organizations, told BelaPAN.
Ten more invitations have been extended to organizations in Russia, which is not involved in the Eastern Partnership.
Representatives of 20 organizations, including three in Belarus, will be able to attend the session if the cover all expenses themselves.
The Forum's Steering Committee received 562 applications from those interested in participation, said the press office of the European Commission.
According to Mr. Matskevich, more than 90 applications came from Belarus.
