Cardboard traffic cops appear on Minsk’s streets

The Minsk city traffic police department has installed life-size cutouts of traffic officers on streets to put the brakes on speeding drivers, BelaPAN reports.

The dummies appeared at dangerous road sections.

Officers will be behind the cutouts from time to time, the traffic police warned.

Replica cops are expected to be deployed on many streets in the Belarusian capital city soon. They will be put up at crosswalks without traffic lights and other sections.

The police will try to install them closer to video surveillance cameras to prevent mobsters from causing damage to them.
