Firefighters on guard in Homyel region
Firefighters in the Homyel region have launched daily raids on forests amid temporary restrictions on visits to wild areas, BelaPAN reports.
All forests are closed to the public in the Homyel and Mahilyow regions. The restrictions were introduced on August 3 due to dry conditions and increased risk of wildfires.
Eighteen peat bog fires were put out in the Homyel region this past weekend.
