The rates of export duty on crude oil supplied to Belarus range from 10 to 25 percent of the price, Branislaw Sivy, deputy chairman of the Belarusian State Petrochemical Industry Concern (Belnaftakhim), said at an exhibition in Minsk on May 25.
The official acknowledged that the Belarusian petrochemical sector had been hit hard by Russia's January 1 move to raise the rate of its export duty on crude supplied to Belarus.
According to Mr. Sivy, the petrochemical sector had a stable performance last year and even managed to raise its overall output by 22 percent year-on-year in the first four months of this year. //BelaPAN
