Ceremony held in Minsk to mark Holocaust Day
The Israeli embassy in Minsk on April 14 held a memorial ceremony to mark Yom Hashoah, or the Holocaust Day, BelaPAN reports.
When speaking at the ceremony, Israeli Ambassador Edward (Eddie) Shapira offered his deep condolences to Poland over the death of President Lech Kaczynski who died in a plane crash on Saturday.
Mr. Kaczynski did much to commemorate Holocaust victims in Poland and develop ties between his country and Israel, Mr. Shapira said.
