Masters of Japanese martial art of jukendo staying in Minsk

A delegation of masters of the Japanese martial art of jukendo is staying in Minsk.

Jukendo is the martial art of bayonet fighting. Modern jukendo uses a mokujyo, a wooden replica of a rifle with an attached and blunted bayonet at the end, in place of an actual rifle and protective armor.

The art is practiced by both Japanese military personnel and civilians.

The delegation, which includes a master with the ninth, highest dan, represents the All Japan Jukendo Federation.

The masters will hold drills and workshops and stage show fights during their March 8-11 stay in Minsk.
