Belarusian Popular Front puts forward 206 representatives for membership in precinct election commissions

The Belarusian Popular Front (BPF) has put forward 206 representatives for membership in precinct election commissions for the April 25 local elections, Vadzim Kanapatski, deputy head of the opposition party’s Minsk city organization, told BelaPAN on Tuesday.

A third of the nominees were put forward for membership in precinct election commissions in Minsk, with rights defender Uladzimir Labkovich and political expert Yury Chavusaw among them, Mr. Kanapatski said, noting that the two activists had been denied membership in Minsk’s territorial and district commissions.
