“Official” Union of Poles to engage in commerce, manufacturing
The so-called official Union of Poles in Belarus (UPB), an organization recognized and backed by the Belarusian government, aims to engage in commerce and manufacturing.
The chairman of the Union, 57-year-old businessman Stanislaw Siemaszko, called a news conference in Hrodna on Thursday to announce that appropriate authorities have registered the Union’s business enterprise. It is necessary to earn money, as no organization can survive without it, he noted. “If we work properly, it will be interesting to be a member of our union,” Mr. Siemaszko said. “I’ve really begun to enjoy [my work].” // BelaPAN
