Customs service accuses Russia of failure to observe oil supply deal

The State Customs Committee (SCC) of Belarus has accused Russia's Federal Customs Service of failing to observe a bilateral agreement on this year's terms of oil deliveries.

In a statement posted on its website, the SCC says that it has come up with specific proposals for simplifying the procedure of duty-free deliveries of Russian crude oil to Belarus on a give-and-take basis, but the Russian agency has been reluctant to discuss them.

When reached by BelaPAN, SCC spokesman Ihar Pyashko declined to comment on the statement. "I cannot say anything more than has been written there," he said.
