Sole entrepreneurs will nominate their representatives for this fall’s parliamentary elections

Sole entrepreneurs will nominate their representatives for this fall’s parliamentary elections, Viktar Harbachow, a leader of a group called For the Free Development of Enterprise, told reporters in Minsk on February 7.

“They have made a firm decision to nominate people who enjoy a high reputation and respect in the provinces,” Mr. Harbachow said. “Entrepreneurs will not only campaign for other candidates but also will be candidates themselves.”

There are “strong people and teams” among sole entrepreneurs, Mr. Harbachow noted. If the election system does not change, it is necessary to participate in the elections to press for enterprise friendly laws, he said.
